The annual fashion weeks across the countries have commenced whether that be London, Milan or Paris. One should not forget the South Asian culture also showcase the best of their abilities with the designer fashion week for Spring Summer 2014. Commencing with Fashion Pakistan Week 2014 in Karachi, where this three day event expresses a variety of designers and their creative designs from Meena Sultan, Nadia Hussian to Wardha Saleem and many more. In association with Toni & Guy, TDAP, Bank AlFalah, Nestle Everyday and Nishat Linen although thoroughly orgainsed together by HUM Sitaray and Fashion Pakistan Council. Giving designers from a wide spectrum the platform to show, tell their story and bestow fabulous designs for the wider audience.
A few of my absolute favourites were Hassan Sheheryar Yasin also known as HSY, Nida Azwer, Nauman Arfeen and Ali Xeeshan Theater

HSY, celebrates his 20th year anniversary in the fashion industry while showing at FPW with his collection 'Venom'. Yet again it held the distinctive HSY trademarks of traditionally used Pakistani and Middle East craftsmanship to be then turned into a more of a western silhouette. This infusion has a great sense of elegance, sophistication and uber class to the line. Chevron lines ranging from different sizes and a black, yellows, gold and bursts of red were the colour palette.

Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio is a master of creativity in my opinion, the way he uses fabrics, colour, embellishment utterly mindblowing. Inspired by the murals and artists of the oriental courts, fabulous burst of summer with his citrus mixture of a colour palette. All combined into a style that seemed to be very relaxed for a Ali Xeeshan show however opted for more of a relaxed Buddhist vibe with fabrication, draping and bird/flower motifs. It spoke effortless grace, uber spiritual and vibrant lifestyle once I saw this collection. Top Marks go to Xeeshan in my books.

Nauman Arfeen 'Haute After Dark' inspired by persian artwork for his Spring/Summer 2014 collection although I felt it gave a twist by using a beautifully Autumn/Winter colour palette of royal blue, dark brown and maroons throughout.Interpretation through traditional kurta, sherwani, western suits. Loved the Styling!

With the collection 'Arabesque' it could be considered that white maybe the new go to colour from this Spring/Summer 14, in terms to Nida Azwer. Her gorgeous choice of fabrication consisted of organza, chiffon, net and silks finally topped off in a gold and silver hue. Azwer created a selection of silhouettes that could be worn in a variety of occasions. This was a subtle beauty I completely loved and her used of traditional craftsmanship.
